Lehigh ^^

Hello my dear readers, it is been a while since I last blogged. Now, I have stayed in Brodhead House for a bit more than three weeks. To the contrary of my initial speculation, none of my roomies are German, even though  their names sound German to me. People studying at Lehigh are mainly from Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey plus the international. Well, I find myself adapting to the life here very much thanks to the help of the officers , the fellow Malaysians at Lehigh (less than 10) and also the transfer orientation.

So where exactly people think I am from? Most people will first guess whether I am from China, since I am a Chinese after all. I couldn't blame them for guessing this because the number of Chinese students from China is really A LOT. There was once a Chinese who guessed that I am from Taiwan after listening to me speaking in chinese. Well, I guess my accent somewhat resembles the accent of Taiwanese people.

One interesting thing is that some Chinese students actually think I don't speak chinese language. They are like (dabeliuteeF???) when I speak Chinese to them.


Here at Lehigh, the amount of homework given by the professor is enough to keep me in front of my desk doing work. I would rather say that the amount of homework is manageable instead of heavy, it will not become a problem if you do your homeworks consistently and continually. This is where I fail hard. Procrastinators never learn, though they shall suffer. Clearly, I am suffering. Well, doing homework last minute really is stressful and detrimental to my health. Procrastination leads to sleep deprivation and stress. Sleep deprivation leads to lack of focus in class and consequently bad performance in class.

I AM working hard to change this habit though.

Guess I am heading back to work for now...=)

Watching Football? Was once my hobby, but not now....
Reading academic books? @@ Hell NO....
Listening to Songs? Yes! Yes!

Well, what defines the songs I like?
Generally, I like songs that soothes my feelings after listening to it?
Erm, maybe I should say the melody of the song....
For instance, I begin to like the song Airplanes by B.O.B feat Hayley Williams merely listening to it without looking into the lyrics... I just love the way the song is sung...
21 Guns(Green Day) is another song that fits into this category, just love the song the way it is...=D

Oh, I also listen to songs where I find their vocal interesting and of course suits my taste...
Example: We the Kings, MUSE, One Republic, 信乐团, Paramore

There comes another special category I will say, nice to view MV
SNSD obviously the one that fits into this category ^_^

Perfect Is Shit

Not that I choose to stay up so late, just that I failed to sleep. In the meantime, I will just spend some time blogging before trying to sleep...again.

Knowing what is perfect sometimes makes you feel inferior. This happens so often when I play dotA. You can learn countless tricks through replays of pro players, however you often fail using their tricks because their skill level is way above yours. Same goes to me. I'm always slow in using Kelen's Dagger, hex or even stuns...that really discourage me since that always cost me the game. And I am always slow in judging my moves, meaning like when i am in a 5 versus 5 fight, I often stand in the middle of the battle wondering what to do next. When I thought of the best move: 

Respawn in ___ seconds....

Now you see, Why devote so much time in something that might disturb your feelings the rest of your day?

This question pops out of my mind sporadically. From time to time, I have find myself an excuse that DotA is a way to curb the emptiness of my life. Yes indeed, life is boring when I don't play DotA. But then, life is equally boring when I play dotA. See? Why? Lets give u an example:

Game 1

Wait 5 minutes for the host to finish tunneling and so on...

2 minutes for you, your allies and your opponents to choose their heroes...

5 minute into game, WindSkill has pawned  U_UMrGay for first Blood...

(All)U_UMrGay: host make lag la...ZZZ... noob! Noob Game

Few seconds later, U_UMrGay has left the game...

                             Harliluya has left the game....

(All)WindSkill: LOL, noob frens. RMK

(All)WindSkill(host) has left the game.

Typical scenario that happen in Garena Malaysia Room. 20 minutes of my life wasted.

Things like this is so common in Malaysian Garena DotA room... I find it boring and aimless to play such games...

Lets say I play with a bunch of friends...

DrFeeder: no leaver pls...

20 minute into game,

Aeon YamateH! has pawned DrFeeder for GODLIKE streak!!! Someone kill him!

(Private)DrFeeder: ei, its time to pp lor. Feed like dog edy...go join others.

Seconds later, DrFeeder has left the game.

(All)Aeon.YamateH!: Tech, ur fren noob la...tell him @#$% la

Of course I left the game since DrFeeder is my fren and we are going to play another game...

Guess What, let say I play two games of such quality, I would have squandered more than one hour of my life. The are certainly more examples of games that bores me. Sometimes your opponents' level is way too low, or sometimes it happens to your ally. This makes the chances to have a fairly balanced and fun game without any leaver to be almost impossible...

Well, honestly speaking, why had I come back to play this game of DotA after saying I will quit (more than three times)

It's all because of the replays I watch. It makes you feel like imitating the moves of the PRO players. However, the more I try, the more I fail. Success do come occasionally...but that is rare.

Actually, I am really thinking of quitting. Maybe I really need to start thinking of other things in life. Things i have neglected due to my obsession towards DotA and so on.

What do I hate most about DotA?? Leavers(ally especially) and noob teammate -.- (please note that noob and newbie is different, newbies are those who are new to the game and lack dotA knowledge, on the other hand...noobs are ppl who fail to understand the game and refuse to take advice from better players)
The chances of having a leaver in a game is almost 90% in Malaysian DotA room, that is really sad...

My First Blog

Hi, I'm Teck Tze aka Littech.

Why blogging? Even I don't have the answer...Perhaps it is out of boredom or perhaps just wanna share my thoughts with others. Furthering my studies in the US means mixed feelings for me really, neither too excited to explore new things nor too depressed to leave home. I know this type of feelings sounds awkward... but that is what i am feeling now.

Let's talk about how I spend my holidays waiting to fly...
Well, sleeping takes out a large portion of my time as I am a IMBA sleeping machine, I would say almost half of a day goes to sleeping. I am definitely not the kind who studies for fun or revise or whatsoever...Instead, I spend my time surfing the net and devoting most of my time playing DotA.

A good friend of mine asked me:
"Won't you get bored playing DotA?"

Well, the answer is I am bored playing it, but even more without it. Haha... Well, other free times goes to facebook, chatting, visiting Gosugamer (a place I get the latest news about DotA), watching TV & DotA replays, reading books and so on...

I guess that is all for my first blog post, feel free to comment or suggest ways to improve my blog.
